About

Dylan Cale Jones (b. 1988, Chicago) is an artist and educator living in Oklahoma City.

Dylan completed their BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) in 2011. In 2015 they earned their MFA through a fully funded fellowship at the Meadows School of Art in Dallas, TX.

After graduating they co-managed SAIC’s Sharp Instructional Shops where they taught woodworking, sewing, moldmaking and digital fabrication to undergraduate students.

Their work has been shown in Chicago at the Chicago Cultural Center, Andrew Rafacz Gallery, and the Mission; and in Dallas, Texas at Galleri Urbane.

In 2018 they were an artist in residence at Compound Yellow in Oak Park, IL. During their residency they exhibited Observation Devices, a project about local police surveillance. They also programmed free film screenings and community workshops. These workshops encouraged community members to engage critically with public space and included contributions from 6 local artists.

Dylan currently teaches at the Oklahoma Contemporary Studio School and the University of Central Oklahoma.

In 2023, they received a grant from the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition and The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts for their project Practice Practice.

In 2024, they will be an artist in residence at the Oklahoma Contemporary Studio School with their partner and collaborator Isa Rodriguez.
